After five years, the successful cooperation between STOCKO and the Städtische Realschule (municipal secondary school) Schleiden has now become official. A joint contract was signed at a ceremony at the Hellenthal plant.
STOCKO sets great store by good connections – including in its contacts with the younger generation in its local region. For example, there has long been regular cooperation with the Städtische Realschule Schleiden with regard to knowledge transfer and practice-based insights into their forthcoming working life.
After "cohabiting for many years", as district administrator Günter Rosenke jokingly called it, this cooperation was integrated into the KURS network on 23 January, an education initiative of the IHK Aachen and the Cologne district government. KURS stands for "Cooperation between companies in the region and schools" and has set itself the goal of bringing together companies and neighbouring schools in the form of learning partnerships.
A success story for both sides: in this way, the school promotes the careers guidance of its pupils and enables them to gain a good insight into the economic processes of a company. Various training fields are presented, application tips given and smaller projects are carried out in the training workshop under supervision. STOCKO, on the other hand, can get to know potential job entrants even before the application phase and openly promote itself and its positive working atmosphere.
